Today I want to share a little “behind the scenes” story about my
latest struggle with AI. If you’ve ever tried to use AI tools like Gemini to create something specific, you probably know that it can be both amazing and… well, a bit frustrating.

When the AI Gets… Stuck
So, I was working on a new fun video and I thuoght to use Gemini Pro to create thumbnails.

It really felt like Gemini was …stuck! It didn’t want to give me what I asked for, even though it worked fine in the past during my thesis.

It’s funny how these tools have their “moods.” I even thought to myself, “Maybe I should have studied Prompt Engineering!” because clearly, I was having some issues. 🙁
I was trying to create a thumbnail for a modern C-drama (Speed and Love) and Gemini gave me something totally fake and historical style…
I thought that if I give it a try for a couple…or many times, it would make a difference but it was honestly so hard! It had a major problem with the faces.

You know me! I do reviews for movies and series and something very important to that is the faces…covers full of the protagonists’s faces…so I can’t really have thumbnails without faces!

The Mystery of the Missing Vecna
The funniest part was when I tried to include Vecna (from Stranger Things).

For some reason, the AI decided that Vecna’s head just wasn’t necessary for the design. It’s like Gemini was saying, “Joyce Byers already finished the job, so we don’t need him here anymore!”

It’s moments like these where you just have to laugh and start a new chat. 🙂

Keep Moving Forward
In the end, I managed to get something decent. It wasn’t exactly what I
envisioned and maybe I would have been better off using Canva Pro from the start, but it was an interesting experiment. AI is a great tool, but it still has a long way to go before it can truly understand our creative vision every single time.

Right below is the thumbnails that I consider it to be kind of ”decent”…
